Lydia Paiva

Lydia became a member of Flute Cocktail at the beginning of 2015. In addition to the flute, she also plays the piano, recorder and saxophone.

After completing her A levels, Lydia took a gap year where she played the flute for charity concerts in Sri Lanka and New Zealand (in addition to travelling to Australia and Japan). Lydia attended The University of Southampton where she played the flute in the Symphonic Wind Orchestra and the saxophone in the Concert Band. Lydia completed her degree in Occupational Therapy in 2011 then worked in HMP Exeter for 2 years before moving to Plymouth in 2013 to work for Plymouth Community Healthcare.

From the start, Lydia was welcomed into the Flute Cocktail family as a valued and talented player.  She has already performed her first solo with the group - Londonderry Air - at the St. Eustachius Church Fete (pictured above) with great musicality and feeling.
